The Sidewinder Fireball is similar to the Skipping Betty Fireball except that it uses d6-3 for damage instead of d4 and the range of the fireball is only 100 feet per level of the caster. Thus each range increment is 100 feet. The spell range is further reduced by 10 feet per degree if the air temperature is less than 32 Fahrenheit. Potential targets also need not be in the 45 degree firing arc from the front of the caster. Additionally, the terrain need not be level as the Sidewinder Fireball can maneuver around obstructions and even hit an object hidden behind a wall, for example. The somatic gestures necessary for casting this spell include a side winding motion made with the caster's arms. The material components for this spell are bat guano, gum arabic and sulphur.
